Debbie Powell

I am an Associate Professor of Language and Literacy at University of North Carolina Wilmington. This is my 6th trip to Costa Rica. I bring students because I want to impact their lives and thus the children's lives they will teach. It is likely the most powerful teaching experience I can offer pre-service or inservice teachers, and "Walking in the Shoes of an ELL" will definitely change their lives, perspectives, goals, and values.
